From a small handful of members to a congregation of nearly 10,000 the ministry of The Brooklyn Tabernacle continues to grow under the leadership of pastor Jim Cymbala. Pastor Cymbala and his wife Carol, who directs the popular Grammy Award winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, have been used by the Lord not only to preach the Gospel in the inner-city of New York, but also to see new churches grow out of their congregation in various parts of the city and in other parts of the world.

The Downtown Learning Center
Had the Lord not provided the condominium building for us prior to the 9/11 Tragedy, we would never have been able to afford the facility in today's marketplace. Comprising over 100,000 square feet of space, this vast commercial condominium facility allows us the opportunity to reach out to countless more people than the Sanctuary and office complex alone would have permitted. Composed of four multi-purpose Fellowship Halls, a Youth center, computer lab, two libraries and eight classrooms, the facility provides us with a means of reaching out to people who live or work near our New Campus either come from lower economic backgrounds with minimal education or are immigrants struggling to make a new start. Fifty percent of our nation's immigrants decide to live within the five boroughs of new York City, many are caught in a cycle of poverty or under-employment. In addition to our fifty seven ministries here at the church which minister to the spiritual needs of the community, we wanted to provide people with practical, tangible assistance as well. The Lord is helping us to accomplish these goals through a five-pronged approach of:

1. Adult Literacy
2. Ministry to Abused Children
3. Seniors
4. Youth Ministry
5. Outreaches to the Homeless
